Pros

Entrepreneurial culture, smart colleagues, training, Living Balance Sheet technology, pension plan

Cons

Old school insurance firm stuck in 1980's. No marketing. Outdated platform. Substandard web presence. Nickel & dime reps for everything - rent, phone, technology system, coffee, mail etc etc etc. Hate to say it but was worst career move I ever made.

Pros

The company is well-known, with decent enough LI and annuity products. I found the staff to be extremely helpful and cooperative, so long as they know you and are willing to work with you.

Cons

The compensation was and is poor and the training isn't up to what I was expecting. Plus, to be honest, I don't know how much longer companies like Guardian can compete with more mobile and innovative advisory firms that cater to a younger demographic.
