Pros

They have a strong product mix, some interesting proprietary tools for clients, and a solid financial history.

Cons

Chose the agency you join carefully. Career agents are tied into the payouts their General Agents offer, so decision to make a move could severely affect residual income streams you've built up!

Pros

Good insurance coverage is definitely a perk for working for an insurance company. Friendships formed--people often complaining about unfairness/upset about the job is what I believe pulled people together.

Cons

No growth for employees. Any and every job (above entry level) was hired from outside of the company. Caused dissatisfaction overall amongst employees--lack of teamwork, apathy. Very difficult for anyone to take time off--that was a huge complaint from everyone at lunch. Workload overwhelming with no overtime allowed from employees. Overall lack of appreciation for employees shown from manager--did not seem to trust anyone--Therefore creating unhappy work environment.
