Good Culture, Terrible HR

Pros

The company strives to be inclusive and supportive of their employees with flexible hours, hybrid workspaces, and helpful benefits. While their internal recruitment needs a lot of work, once you’re on a project the work is good. You’ll have a people manager for your manager. Some of them are useless, but I’m lucky to have a good one. Salary increases have been steady and there are small bonuses you can earn if you’re at certain levels.

Cons

Their HR needs drastic improvement. Most of the recruiters are useless and they treat you like an outside applicant when working off the internal job board. People managers are hit and miss like the recruiters. To the credit of at least some of the recruiters this looks like a problem with their system rather than the people (in some cases). They like to talk about their benefits and how supportive they want to be until an employee actually needs to use them and then they string you along for months.

Pros

Good pay for entry-level positions Good mentorship

Cons

Overtime & lots of working lunches I found myself on a team with poor leadership and fear-based tactics driving productivity. I attempted to switch teams, as I considered it to be an abusive environment. At the end of my contract for that project, they planned to switch me, but I was not willing to wait that long and chose to leave the company. With that said, I had peers on other projects that had good experiences - depends on the team on which you are placed.
