Pros

Guidewire is a hidden gem. It's a beautiful company with amazing people. Very collaborative and genuine team. I love being here. We do have our own challenges but what makes it a great place to work is the people here. Truly a pleasure to work with. Absolutely loving it.

Cons

I cannot think of any significant downside. Yes, if I compare it to Google and Facebook we certainly can improve our benefits. But it's not something that bothers me.

Pros

this company walks its talk: it lives, at least 90% of the time, to its professed values of "integrity, rationality, collegiality"; I am given a reasonable amount of (mostly) meaningful work to do, which is challenging but not overwhelming

Cons

They changed their employee feedback system so instead of a written report you get a quarterly "dialog" with your manager. This is meaningless.

Pros

I have been at Guidewire for just over two weeks.. a few of my favorite things include; The culture: Can I just say I feel like I have been here a lifetime.. These are the friendlies people I have had the pleasure to work work with to date. This extends to executive level leadership. We all work hard but the kindness sure makes it an easy place to do so. Corporate Communication: Regular communication on company happenings and communication from leadership keeps us all in the know. Employee Appreciation: to include a kitchen snacks at no cost and Thursday gathering of employees over pizza and drinks, and an abundance of food in general. BTW healthy options - so thankful for this! Incredibly generous medical: I have Aetna PPO, VSP Vision, Delta Dental (others are available) and the standard FSA - These were big questions I had while interviewing. And the employer contribution is beyond generous! Extended benefits to include 401K, Commuter Benefits, Life Insurance & Income Protection, AT&T discount.. everything you could want then some! Fantastic PTO and Volunteer allowance Wonderful Wellness Program: Thursday Massages and Free Onsite Gym Employee appreciation gifts and programs to include Company Branded Apparel annually. Easy on boarding and exceptional orientation program. Since joining this team I have not once felt like "the new guy". I have been fully involved and already pipe lining my future with the company. A great place to go and a better place to grow!

Cons

I have not encountered any negatives since joining two weeks ago. The only thing I can possibly think of is the commute depending on where you are coming from... but honestly wouldn't you rather live on the peninsula anyway?
