      Pros

      I feel a pride in my position. I am made to feel like I matter and my contribution is positive and has a direct impact on the company. The compensation is very competitive. I have yet to meet someone I don't like and they are 100% all competent at what they do. None of that "80/20" ratio for the people who do nothing compared to the 20 percent who do the work. Here it feels like everyone is the best in their field... which is where the pride comes in.

      Cons

      The continual push and feedback can be a little exhausting. I know I'm improving all the time and I'm constantly at the edge of my comfort zone which is good for continual improvement but like I say, it can be a lot to take in.

      Pros

      Services organization has been a great place to work in to be exposed to various clients/cultures.

      Cons

      Training is poor but the new head of services is trying to change this. Previous head of services built the organization in his mould and it shows. I don't think there is much scope to move up for employees who're not already in the higher ranks. It's unclear in the review I just had what else I needed to do to move up. I was rated an EE but still not made the cut so it's obviously a numbers game now. Not much time spent by managers/directors to get the next level ready for the step up. It's really disturbing to see that upper management does not really have more of a world view. I've tried talking to several about non work related topics but I'm better off talking to a fan in a lot of cases. Cliquey is how I would describe the current state of management and I refuse to play that game. I would rather work at a SI in that case.

      Pros

      I would recommend Guidewire because it has great atmosphere, talented colleagues and fun events. The company highly invests in their staff in terms of training, both initial and ongoing. Working with powerful technologies is very interesting and challenging. Guidewire tries to keep every employee satisfied and it shows.

      Cons

      Technologies used at Guidewire (such as Gosu) are not widely used elsewhere so some skills acquired may not be transferable.
