      Pros

      Recruiting here is pretty good, so colleagues are high quality. There's a lot of exciting growth and therefore opportunities. Management actively works to recognize and fix problems; ops is actually quite good.

      Cons

      Rapid growth always introduces inefficiencies, and Guidewire is not immune to that. There is still work to be done to integrate the new office in Pennsylvania into the company as a whole.

      Pros

      Thoughtful, intelligent colleagues; excellent work-life balance; very stable company. Provides software to a very stable industry (insurance) that really needs the applications in order to function.

      Cons

      Not much to say here -- doesn't have all the "perks" of some other companies like Google and Facebook, but those "perks" (cafeterias, bars, toys) seem mostly aimed at keeping people at work 100% of the time, which doesn't seem healthy.

      Pros

      I continue to be very bullish on Guidewire's prospects, as we are maintaining the same consistent focus that we've always had on dominating our vertical market. Product Development has a very healthy culture in my mind, far healthier than any other organization I have ever been a part of, and it's great to be building the products that are driving our success.

      Cons

      Stress level has cranked up some since last year's IPO, and it feels like the balance between short-term and long-term focus is sometimes tipped towards the wrong end of the scale.
