Pros

Good discounts on musical gear, but I'm not a musician. People under the level of manager are normally good people to work with.

Cons

I have a boss who has made multiple employees under him quit and is still around. The company is a boys club and it's all about who you know. Company is controlled by Bain Capital so some people spend half their time updating Bain on progress instead of actually making progress on their projects. Employees, especially in higher up positions, are constantly "reorganized," resulting in some people being reorganized out of the organization.

Toxic Creativity

Pros

They made me a better creative professional because surviving there was like boot camp run by lunatics. The only reason there was camaraderie was because everyone was fighting through the same toxic sludge every single day. It was chaos wrapped in fake smiles and corporate buzzwords. I’m honestly amazed I didn’t walk out of there with a staph infection or a drinking problem.

Cons

The company had a special talent for taking brilliant people and grinding them into dust. They called it “parting ways with underperformers,” but anyone with a pulse knew it was just lazy leadership and cheap excuses. Watching that cycle play out over and over was like watching a clown car crash into a dumpster fire. And every time they talked about “career growth,” it was just another lie to keep people from quitting before lunch. The office looked like it hadn’t been updated since the Bush administration. The air was stale, the lighting was miserable, and the whole place felt like a creative hospice ward. Walking in every morning was like clocking into a live-action episode of Dunder Mifflin, except there were no cameras, no humor, and no hope.

Pros

Discounts, that’s about it really. Some nice co-workers

Cons

To be honest I experienced pretty bad micro acts of racism. I was called Jose and other Mexican names. The lack of training and connection to your manger lead me to become extremely unprepared for the role and in addition to the insane work load to which they said “we don’t expect you to be able to complete everything” was insane. My role alone should’ve been staffed my three people. And also the pay was embarrassing and disrespectful for the amount of work they placed on me. I started having severe panic and anxiety attacks from this place. And the on the annual survey, the whole department came back by saying they felt extremely underpaid. And when they went over it, they basically just said “it is what it is”. I’m sure experiences vary from department to department, but I’ve managed to get to know a lot of different people from different departments and I was not alone which my thoughts of racial discrimination and back work environment. There are some nice folks but there are alot of rude and quite frankly disrespectful employees that don’t even acknowledge your existence. I’m currently going to therapy to help deal with the gas lighting I experienced from this job, I really thought I was the problem, but after talking it over with several other folks and employees, I realized this job was making feel like I wasn’t good or able enough when in reality it was the job not me.
