Pros

Nice coworkers. Pay is pretty good. Lots of resources, like tools and machines that make some jobs easier.

Cons

Work life balance is not great. Not enough flexibility for hourly employees. Must use personal time or vacation for every single hour away from work. If you have an appointment or an event at your child's school you can not make up the time if you are an hourly employee. You must use all of the 40 hours per year of personal time and then your 80 hrs vacation. When working 10 hour days and overtime you have no choice sometimes. If you have a sick child or you get sick, your paid time off goes quick and you could get punished for having unpaid hours if you are out of these allotted hours.

Pros

Great design work using their CAD system and their processes involving MDB and PDM. The programs are very valuable for the resume.

Cons

very threat oriented environment, no warning if somebody is gets fired. They have "folks" that "scope" the parking lots and company grounds to see if people are spending too much time from their desks. The worst time keeping system I ever used - only when your computer is up and running AND you clock in (and their intranet is slow ...) IS when you are actually getting paid.

Very strong conservative company, if that's your thing.

Pros

Many opportunities to promote from within. Great health benefits. Everyone knows everyone else.

Cons

If you don't work at HQ it is sometimes tough to get promotions. There are a lot of work silos which brings workplace politics with it. Sometimes too conservative with employees. Technology is still lagging 10 years behind. Offices very often are crowded and don't have windows.
