Pros
GXM is a small company but mighty and impactful on delivery. The leadership is great and the project teams are highly skilled and collaborative. Iron sharpens iron in this environment. I've traversed many projects and contracts and have always found intrigue in my work and colleagues. I highly recommend this company for the following reasons, - Ethical leadership - Interesting contracts - Flexible hours - Great communication across the organization - Great foresight for business development - Encouraged and supported continuing education and professional development. - Management always figured out a way to keep everyone employed during government shutdowns, contacts issues, etc. - Small company that allows one to rapidly acquire and use new skills. - Leadership wants to know what you want to do and what direction you'd like to take your career. Other Pros: - THE 401K IS A+. Don't look at just the base salary. Look at the total compensation. GXM matches dollar for dollar up to 6% of your salary. This is a huge pile cash they're dropping in your lap. This type of matching is rare in the industry which normally give pennies to 401k plans. Pay attention. - Great insurance packages (High and Low) - Flexible hours. (Some surge times, but rare) - Great work life balance. - Empathetic and understanding management to personal needs.
Cons
The weaknesses I've observed at GXM are the following, - Ambiguity in roles due to a flat organizational structure. This is a pro and a con, but if you don't carry some form of a title, there might be confusion on what you're expected to offer, how you're measured, and what salary you deserve based on your experience and contributions. Communication is key here. - The experience at this company is entirely dependent on the contract and/or team. It's possible to get 'stuck' on a project or team that is not interesting or fulfilling. - Resourcing is an issue sometimes, but this is just any small company. There are contracts that seem vastly understaffed compared to the amount of client support and work that needs completed.
