Cons

No cons, honestly! I've been in retail for 15 years and this is the real deal people : )

Pros

This is a company that truly cares about employees. They take care of part time employees just as much as full time.

Cons

I have no real complaints other than things can very from store to store which can be a bit confusing.

Pros

- Pay is based on cost of living for your area, this means they generally pay above minimum wage. - Decent benefits, even for part time employees. You get your birthday off as a paid holiday, and you'll earn paid vacation after working there a full calender year. - 25% discount that can be applied to sale items as well. - 1 hour breaks depending on length of shift. - Relatively flexible hours. - They like to promote from within, which is good, but you'll only reach the position you want if you're favored by management.

Cons

I can only speak for my store, as every H&M is different, and management will decide what policies they do or do not want to follow. - Be prepared to do the job of 10 people for the same amount of pay. - Chronically and severely understaffed. - Incompetent management. - Depending on your area, the low prices bring in less than desirable clientele. Be prepared to get screamed at by entitled customers, or even physically assaulted - something that has happened at my store on more than one occasion. - Registers are old and outdated. - Day shift workers are very task focused, so little cleaning is done, thus the store is left a complete mess for those unfortunate enough to have to close. - Management gives little to no communication. - New employees are barely trained, or not trained at all, leaving them utterly incompetent at their job. New employees will often not be register trained for months after they start.
