Pros

Harvey has been my favorite job I’ve ever had, and also one of the most challenging. The pace is fast, and the company’s ability to pivot quickly and execute in a rapidly changing AI landscape is impressive. The work is consistently interesting, and the people are a major highlight. There is a very high level of buy-in across the company, and working with people who care as much as you do is really motivating. I’m excited to come in every day and genuinely love the environment.

Cons

Planning can be inconsistent, and at times it can feel like plans become outdated almost as soon as they are made. Smaller projects can drag on longer than expected, while large, high priority projects may suddenly become all hands on deck efforts with scope evolving as it is built. Customer expectations are high, and there is real pressure to deliver quickly without making mistakes.

Hi! Thanks for writing this and I appreciate the thoughtful feedback on planning and on high expectations. I think your point is fair that short projects can take awhile and it's not always clear what matters, and I'm delighted to hear you look forward to coming into work every day. Appreciate you making the time to share this so candidates learn more about our environment and so our leadership team can continue to improve and evolve. Hope you're having a great long weekend! Sincerely, Katie

Pros

Harvey is an unusually high-caliber place to work. The team is smart, ambitious, and deeply mission-oriented, and there is a strong culture of ownership. People are trusted to take on meaningful scope quickly, and the pace of learning is very high. The product is also genuinely exciting: it is rare to work on something where the customer demand, technical ambition, and market timing all feel this strong. Leadership is accessible, direct, and willing to make decisions quickly, which helps the company move fast without too much bureaucracy.

Cons

The pace is intense, and the company is still evolving quickly, so this is not the right environment for someone looking for a highly structured or predictable role. Priorities can shift as the business scales, and teams often need to operate with imperfect information. There is also a high bar for ownership and communication, which can be challenging but is mostly a function of the company’s stage and ambition.

Thanks for sharing this and also for your callout on speed and talent density, you're spot on. I think your point on decision making and career development is more than reasonable--keep the feedback coming and we'll keep working to improve on it. Sincerely, Katie
