Pros

Immediate paid vacation & sick time, opportunities to advance. Company appears to care about the health and well being of employees and offers many programs to assist those values.

Cons

The pay is above minimum wave, more like medium range, but you are stuck there for a long time. Yearly raises aren't really that great, and the company is going downhill since they've become publicly traded. Management doesn't seem to care about the opinions of employees and often make poorly informed decisions that they end up retracting later because of it.

Pros

Decent work/life balance Compensation Flexible work schedules for some positions, ask to confirm Colleagues Industry is on the rise This place is a revolving door to a better career. If you can get through it for about a year, it makes a decent resume builder to find better employment since many people still associate the company with another very large home improvement retailer.

Cons

Middle management is usually not aligned with executive leadership. They are a billion dollar company, but they haven't successfully determined the direction of the business. There is no transparency into how their sister companies are doing, initiatives, and goals. There is barely details given to employees about the initiatives of other teams within the organization and their performance. The 401K matching is less than stellar and bonuses are only given to managers and above. There are some good teams within the company, but there are many more bad ones. It is not uncommon to find many middle mangers that lack the experience, vision, and leadership to actually possess their position. They do not have any continued education classes or training whatsoever. The benefits are somewhat expensive and there are not many perks for the average employee. They have had some layoffs and frequent change of leadership which could be what the company needs to improve or could mean that you should keep your skills sharp in case you are under the chopping block. If you are at a decent company, don't just come here for more money. After a few months, you will have the bitter taste of regret if you manage to get in the wrong department.
