      It is a job at the largest shipyard in Mississippi

      Pros

      While this is the first shipyard I have worked at, the pay and benefits are excellent. In addition, while safety here can be questionable, many people say that it is better than at other construction companies.

      Cons

      See above about safety as they could do much better in that category. I do not mind right now since I am young but otherwise do be prepared to walk a lot of stairs and sacrifice a lot of time just to be able to arrive at work on time. If you are an apprentice you will have to take classes and it can be a hassle if that is not normal experience and have not been to school in a long time.

      Great 401k, steady workload, plenty of covered areas to work in

      Cons

      Long unpaid hours, only straight time paid over 40, workers make more than managers after 48 hours
