      Pros

      Benefits, Decent Salary, Good job for someome who doesnt want to go to college. Just stay away from Shipfitting. Worse job in shipyard

      Cons

      Everything else sucks. I hate working in a shipyard. Its nasty, hot, noisy, everything you expect from an old shipyard. Just stay away from shipfitting.

      Pros

      The shipyard is very proud to build quality ships, which engages the employees to want to do their best to build "good ships" for the sailors. As an engineer, there is always a sense of ownership for the project you are working on. The large company also provides the opportunity to learn different facets of shipbuilding through rotational programs. For those willing to apply themselves, there is always growth potential.

      Cons

      The work in the shipyard shifts over time. In order to keep everyone employed, you may be pulled off your project to fill a position that has more budget. Depending on how vested you are in your project, this can be a disappointment.
