      Pros

      Being an apprentice people say we are kind of treated a lot better than regular hourly workers. I don't really think we are treated any different. I like working with my hands Only job I ever had that paid me to go to school so that's awesome. The pay is good especially being that I can into the company with no industrial experience. 100% Tuition assistance program is excellent. Good benefits It's a cool job, where you get to be at the only place in the world that builds nuclear power aircraft carriers. That our Navy uses to defend our Country.

      Cons

      Being a women you have to work two times harder than your man counter parts to be taking seriously. However it can be done, I did it, it just takes hard work. It's all about who knows you, people with family in high places often get promotion they don't deserve.

      Pros

      Benefits, Decent Salary, Good job for someome who doesnt want to go to college. Just stay away from Shipfitting. Worse job in shipyard

      Cons

      Everything else sucks. I hate working in a shipyard. Its nasty, hot, noisy, everything you expect from an old shipyard. Just stay away from shipfitting.
