Pros

Average company with average opportunities. Not sure why it is ranked as one of the best places to work for though.

Cons

This place is run in a hierarchical format. You cannot speak directly with management. You can only go through your supervisor if you want to reach management or other departments. You cannot speak with other departments directly. There is a specific class structure in this company. All managers do make personal decisions or even have opinions. They are all yes-men/woman and carry out only what high level management decides is good. Top level managers are known as officers (gives you a sense of military structure) and you are treated as low level soldiers, in some cases no even greeting or looking at you in the hallways. You cannot use high level management's bathrooms because you are not good enough. Not a good place to work at overall.

Pros

Company as a whole: Good benefits. Has events such as employee BBQs and a Christmas party. Bonus at the end of the year.. its small, but still better than no bonus. When the company made the move to Carlsbad, they offered employee relocation loans. Personally: my supervisor was always super flexible with my schedule. I have a kid and she always helped me with last minute time off requests, I did have the PTO to use though. Also if you go to school, they will make a schedule that will allow you to achieve your goals. They still expect you to work full time, but they will adjust your schedule. You can make friends easy enough, you can easily bond by talking about how crappy the actual job is and how poor management is.

Cons

From my point of view, office politics is a real thing around here. Tech support is highly micromanaged, to the point where they have a very high turn over rate. Telecommuting isn't an option available to everyone, just whoever the manager/director likes the most, time with the company has no input on this. All those events that I mentioned in the pros section, tech support doesn't get to attend. Even for the christmas party, only half the team gets to attend, even though everyone else in the entire company gets to attend. When someone with a higher position, in a different department, gets in trouble, they have the choice to either be laid off or work in tech support.. Really lowers team moral and overall self worth knowing that someone else's punishment is your job. And of course the pay sucks. People in the installation department, in which all they do is make appointments, make more money than the tier 3s here.

Pros

Start times are from 5am to 10am, you'll be able to select a shift time. Every once in a while there will be free food for an occasion. Free Coffee, Bring your own cup. Lots of Walking lol

Cons

Be prepared to be bullied into changing your shift if you picked an early one, they will try to guilt you into taking something later. You do not get employee holiday pay, vacation or sick time until after 90 days even if you are a full time employee. Parking is terrible be prepared to walk. Make sure you do not use the Entrance Stares as they are reserved for executives and clients. "I kid you not". The Pay is Terrible "Peanuts" and the benefits are trash. There are a few things they will say to get you in there like 3 weeks vacation up front, nope..... not for you. Personality questionnaire is required???
