Pros
Consistent hours, opportunities to learn new skills (if convenient for the company), a handful of decent coworkers, and regular (albeit small) bonuses.
Cons
Nepotism runs rampant, typical work day runs from 7am-5pm (so around 10 hour shifts) but holidays/pto are paid out in 8 hour increments so you don't get paid for a full day of work unless the business is open. Very reactive environment - issues brought to management by employees are not dealt with until absolutely necessary, and even then the reactions leave a lot to be desired. Professionalism is expected when customers are within earshot, but management/sales have no problem making jokes behind their back. Sales team can do no wrong and since the HR department is married into the family, their interests lie with the company and not the employees. Best advice for harassment complaint was to "be the bigger person." Tempers run pretty hot at HLC and a lot of their "good deeds" are performative at best.
