Pros

You are often, ostensibly, the face of the company as guests see it, which means your skills and victories directly impact the guests and the company. Days are varied offering different challenges. Travel program is great if you are able to take advantage. Interactions with interesting people from all walks of life and location.

Cons

You are often, ostensibly, the face of the company as guests see it, so you are the first point of contact with issues regardless of the source of the issue. Problem resolution skills are often irrelevant as guests complain about industry wide policies, a lack of services that were never promised, and are able to go to the corporate level to get compensation for problems they never made the branch aware of. Offsite support is often contradictory and not knowledgable about topics that they are there to assist with. Hilton expectations are often unrealistic for the budgets and staff at given branches and locations.

Pros

All Hamptons provide free breakfast and free WiFi for all guests so there is never a complain about that. For the Employees, they give you a discount for hotels so that's always a plus.

Cons

you may never sit down while on the computer. You don't get an actual break. Your break is when no one is at the front desk, unless you have a second worker with you then you take turns in between both.

Pros

Great working environment. Friendly staff.

Cons

Compensation is not competitive with similar jobs in the area. Also the sales department in my opinion does not deserve their high salaries for the job they perform. Such as leaving early and not working aggressively at selling the rooms and marketing like Facebook, and other online sites. There are too many really hard workers at the hotel such as the GM, AGM, Front Desk, Maintenance and House Keeping, that work each day like crazy and to see sales department getting payed for leaving early and not selling much or poorly because there is no commission for them, which I believe is completely wrong because most other sales jobs have commission exactly for such reason as sales and it encourages highest levels of performance, which is actually better for the company.
