Pros

It was an ok the starting pay is competitive with other grocery stores, and raised as well as vacation time was competitive as well.

Cons

I realized later on that seniority was undervalued in this store. Seems as though people who have been there longer and are proven employees do not get leverage like they do in other places.

Pros

Nice people to work with and very supportive culture. Most people care about each other and it shows in the work that is done. Customer oriented.

Cons

Top Management out of touch until recently. Roland Smith seems to have a handle on what is important and how to get there. New guy Brad Wise needs to follow that lead.

Pros

Co-Workers are friendly, Work isn't particularly hard, Decent pay.

Cons

Management in Hannaford is the main reason Hannaford is such an unpleasant place to work. They spend most of their time wandering around, doing things that don't need to be done, or upstairs working on "paper work." They take longer lunches, and then act like perfect little worker bees when someone from corporate shows up. Management is very fake at Hannaford, and will even go as far as lying to you to cover their own ass. But, there is no use in arguing with them as you live in fear of being fired, as Hannaford makes it very clear that you are a number to them... not a person. They could replace you easily. MORE CONS Deliberate 5 hour and 45 minute shift to avoid giving you a lunch. Rude customers. Customers only give bad reviews about you, NEVER good ones so when its time for your review you'll be bombarded with all the complaints you've had against you. VERY easy to get in trouble. I got was complained at the other day for using the bathroom twice in the first two hours of my shift.
