Pros

It was close to where I live and a good job during the summer in college. They have a great staff and friendly group to work with. Management was fair in dealing with employees and seemed to be interested in helping maintain a life work balance for employees. I also enjoyed meeting the many new people both that worked there and customers. The management was also very understanding of student schedules. Overall, it was a good job when you had no where else to work but I do not think that anyone really wants to stay there for a real long time.

Cons

HOURS, HOURS, HOURS !!! You never get enough hours in the summer time. As a part time employee I never got as many hours as I wanted. They also put your hours into blocks as small as .75 hours. That does not even pay for my gas to get to work. It is also hard to deal with some of the customers, you have to deal with some real unfriendly faces but I guess that is part of customer service. It also goes at a very fast pace so there is a little stress on your part as a cashier.

Pros

The company really cares about its employees and customers. The people are really nice - they work hard, but also have life outside of work. The lights shut off at 5:00, and everyone is pretty much expected to leave (though senior management might stay for an extra hour). If you like Maine, this is a good place to be.

Cons

For a small organization, change is really slow, but that might be a function of it being in the retail grocery industry. If you are not committed to living in Maine, this probably isn't the place for you. I really don't have many negative things to say about this company.

Pros

Flexible schedule, easy mindless work, I worked on the night crew so I received 2 dollars extra an hour, but if i had started on days the pay would not have been all that great for me. It was a college part time job so i worked there always knowing it was temporary which kind of got me through the day

Cons

mindless, lowpay, miserable employees, you would have to work here 20 years If you hope to make a decent wage according to low standards
