Pros

The owner is worth $4B with a $150,000,000 yacht and an $80,000,000 house. Customers are generally comfortably numb with cheap tools. You can be brain dead and if you can tolerate the retail grind you will be average.

Cons

The basic hourly associate is grossly under paid. The District and Regional Managers are predatory and you will come to hate them. The associates are generally turn downs from Home Depot and such who will tolerate poor treatment and cheap pay because they have no choice.

You mentioned our owner, and though I cannot confirm what you mentioned, I can share a few things that you left out. Just a few weeks ago, we awarded hardworking teachers from across the country for their passion and commitment to education. We also awarded schools of their choosing so these institutions can continue giving back to their communities. In addition, the owner started a special foundation and its sole purpose is to give back to the communities across this great country. All of these initiatives were born from the hard work and dedication of our owner and the 20,000 HFT Associates across the country. We are also proud to recognize that our owner has paid the ever-increasing cost of HFT Associate health care four years in a row to keep our costs low. We wish you all the best on your career journey and appreciate your commitment to delivering value to the hardworking while you were an HFT Associate.

Unreal expectations., Fall guy for anything that happens in the store, Creative input is strictly disallowed. District managers that are narcissists who refuse to be wrong and care nothing about quality of life for workers, "lead" by fear and uneasiness. Writeups and firings are encouraged and seen as a sense of accomplishment rather than seeing associates grow and succeed. Morale is non-existent.

Pros

Great benefit package and paid timeoff. But that's where my good experience ends.

Cons

Constantly being told to bully customers while I'm being bullied, management changing the rules to suit themselves, constant lack of personnel makes it impossible to get time off. When you put in a complaint about the management it is ignored or brushed off completely or made to look like your own fault which constitutes bullying. I'm all about making a sale but I'm also all about a great customer experience. I want my customers to feel like I've helped them, not like I've asked for their first born child! If a customer tells me no and does not respond positively to my one or two rebuttals i should not be getting management in my ear piece telling me to bully them more. We are selling tools, not used cars!
