Pros

Honestly, I can’t think of anything

Cons

Management & executives are the most toxic individuals. They verbally abuse their employees & manipulate everything / everyone. When I was hired, I was promised many things - safe work environment, inclusion, training & open communication. Instead I was met with micromanagement, passive aggressive communication and discrimination. My job’s description was very simple and straightforward yet they made me do tasks that were WAY BEYOND my job. I regret not taking a stand earlier and demand higher pay. I did discuss things with HR about tasks that made me uncomfortable and they refused to accommodate my request. The yelling, name calling, and comments about whether I am able to complete a task simply because of being “male and/or female” from the COO, HR & other executives caused me to question my worth as a human. The treatment they put me through caused me to have severe anxiety and depression which also resulted in a delay for reviewing the company. To this day, I still deal with the pain and trauma their words and actions have brought to me. To future *potential* or even current employees, I beg you to please speak up for yourself to these bullies or don’t even apply. I spoke with past and present employees at this company and they are all scared of the same people I mentioned in this post.

Pros

Decent PTO, and you can really learn a lot in your role. Very diverse workforce as well.

Cons

The COO/CEO was frequently abusive to other executive management and could occasionally be heard from down the hall and around the corner yelling at people. He would also show favoritism to employees with a long tenure, overriding established handbook procedure. This led to high stress and a cutthroat culture not necessarily visible to people working on contracts. Health plans had a low premium but had high deductibles, especially for spouses and families. There was also a refusal to hire needed additional people on the back-end, once again resulting in high workloads and stress. Management did not raise salaries in accordance with this.

I truly hate to see such negative reviews-- not just because of the impact it has on all those who try so hard to make Harmonia a fantastic working environment-- but because it means you were miserable for the almost two years you worked for us, based on the details shared above, yet you apparently never took the time to meet with a member of HR, or speak to your management about your issues, or work with us to find new and beneficial tactics that would actually bring about the professional growth it seems you wanted. While work isn't always perfect, I hope all our employees know they can absolutely come to any member of the HR team if there is a problem-- if not to their manager, or even to our CEO or COO or any member of the executive team. While we don't have magic wands, we will do our best to make sure you have the resources you need to be successful in your role, offer guidance when we can, and help you with a smooth transition if you truly desire to be somewhere other than on our team. And if it helps you rest easier, I can assure you we have never let a good performer go in order to replace them with someone cheaper. We keep our good performers close, and we reward them, and we do all we can to keep them a part of the team as long as we possibly can.
