They're great people to work with in Tyler.

They don't have near enough quality communication so there is a lost minute this and that to do.

Pros

We get a bunch of individual freedom to find solutions to problems. We get to think outside the box. The work is not on the cutting/bleeding edge but very close to being on the cutting edge. I like not having to be in a cookie cutter job. Also the benefits, vacation time and the casual biz environment makes it a great place to work. At a Harris Christmas party the CEO talked about the 10 core company values and that really sums up why I like the company.

Cons

Not a con for me but Responsibility and Accountability are big here. If you are looking for a place to cruise then this is not the place for you. With the freedom to be creative and solve problems and make cool software comes the responsibility to get things done.

This company has seen exceptional financial success (for evidence, see the share price history of Harris' parent Constellation Software Inc.) and this has resulted in very significant opportunities for career growth and enhancement. Also, Harris is very supportive of remote work, but at the same time has offices in almost every major North American city if you are looking for a geographic move.

Cons

Harris is a conglomerate that operates independent business units in many different industries. This results in some disparities in how employees are treated across the company.
