Pros
The oncologists and nurses are exceptional — highly skilled, compassionate, and dedicated to patient care. Very pharmacy friendly.
Cons
The pharmacy department has a challenging culture where constructive feedback and alternative recommendations are often discouraged. Team members who voice differing opinions may face coordinated pushback under the guise of “H3W behaviors,” which can at times lead to punitive responses. The environment tends to reward compliance rather than true collaboration or innovation. Operational issues, such as delays involving the Shields liaison team, are not always addressed constructively, and staff who raise concerns may encounter defensiveness instead of open problem-solving. Compensation is below market compared to comparable institutions. Reemployment within the same health system also appears to be discouraged; for instance, a respected colleague who left on good terms was publicly dismissed when he reapplied.
