Pros

Location, your resume will have "Harvard" on it, and benefits.

Cons

No room for advancement, many assume that Harvard of all places would promote growth--but HBP doesn't practice anything that it printed in the magazine. Very clique like atmosphere and very no interaction with other departments. HIGH TURN OVER!!!

Pros

Mix of good people and pompous ones. Good benefits, especially for employees in Boston area. Opportunities to learn. Talented engineers.

Cons

Tech leadership is all over the place; they change their minds randomly take a u-turn at the last minute. For a company creating management content they are horrible at keeping time: Leadership consistently goes over time in meetings they organize sometimes doubling the scheduled time, which shows how poorly they value the junior employees. Would not recommend at all for tech. Salary is grossly below average. At best they pay entry level fresh graduate salary for senior managers. Company has some name recognition only because of its affiliation with the university. Don't count on tuition reimbursements.

I am dismayed to read this -- as you are still with HBP, I encourage you to reach out so we can learn even more about your concerns. Regarding pay, we aim to pay competitively and test our compensation structure regularly to maintain our market position. I can be reached at angela.cheng-cimini@harvardbusiness.org if you are willing. I hope to hear from you. Thank you.

Pros

The security, the talent pool, the focus on the client experience, always striving for improvement

Cons

Out of touch very high-earning leadership structure, countless sudden/shoe-horned promotions of favorites to leadership that arent widely advertised, inconsistent principles and best practices for department structure, no accountability to ensure practices/processes are universally used (and liked by those who use), too slow to respond to obvious systemic issues like resourcing and profitability issues; generally feeling of hardworking plugged-in minions and out of touch, waiting to retire wealthy and not-rock-the-boat leadership
