      Pros

      I think they honestly tried to do their best. Pretty much everyone was at least OK and most were excellent. Better than most other Canadian EPCM firms. Reasonable work life balance if you are not a pushover.

      Cons

      Pathetic at business planning, marketing and client schmoozing. Overhire in booms and then massive layoffs. They still advertise they have 11,000 employees...LOL...more like 7,000..why the lies? if you are not an associate you are pretty much a contract employee with benefits. They will whack you with absolute employment standards minimum..."thanks for coming out".

      PDG Pesrspective - Good for new grads, not so much for intermediates

      Pros

      Rewarding experience for juniors and EITs. I was able to learn a lot, partake in various social and networking events and activities. Very vibrant and young demographic, with great senior engineers for mentoring and guiding the young engineers.

      Cons

      Transitioning from EIT to Intermediate was not challenging and the work I was doing was not rewarding anymore. I wanted to learn new things within my discipline but there almost never is budget for trainings/seminars/conferences. Everything is to be 'learnt on the job'. However if there are no new interesting or challenging jobs, you find yourself doing the same thing over and over again. And if you are in PDG, prepare to be shafted aside as folks from the business units get promotions and salary raises at a much faster pace than you.
