Havertys reviews

The IT department is a very negative workplace. Everyone wants to point blame and throw each other under the bus when possible. I believe this is a result of management being so aggressive and invasive in every day work, developers don't want to be the targeted subject so it's common to blame someone else asap. You don't have much room to express how you feel because the CIO and VP are the ones ruining the atmosphere and there's no one willing to stand up to them to help the little guys so the developers are the ones who suffer.

Poor management - no accountability, incompetence, blissfully ignorant. The rate of change/implementation is slower than snail's pace. VERY old and manual systems, like you can't even put the routinely used software on your resume because it is specific to Havertys built by Havertys. Office environment is incredibly quiet - little camaraderie. Departments are very small with little room for growth, hardly any middle management. Work/life balance pretty limited - felt guilty taking time off for my wedding. -_- Discount isn't even that great either. Truly for loyalists that are just riding the business out but even if you've worked there for 13 years you still have a chance to be low-balled during the review period because they're stingy.
