Pros

Great with information and training material. Product knowledge.

Cons

They flood the floor with with sales people. They con there new hires about the fake opportunity regarding there 50,000 to 70,000 a year pay (up to 7500 a month is a lie) your paid once a month. You do get a draw. 26-34k a real possibility. Sales staff are so slow to get customers they huddle around the computers and gossip and ask questions to get info on other staff later to change and manipulate what was said to harass to get people off the sales floor or get them fired. They live for high school drama. They have nothing better to do than play on there phone and gossip. If you love to wait 5-8 hrs for an up this is your place to work. The seasoned staff love to demoralize you and scare you about no sales and try to get you to quit with negativity. All sales people can see your sales totals and ups and client information. Other havertys are your competition. As you can help on client only to have a sale taken for you from another store. Beware. Not up front and false hope. If you work their a recommendation is to say nothing to anyone other than hi and strictly only talk to clients. The bickering that happens behind managment is awful. Your paid on delivered not written. Sales staff will know your returns before you will and gossip. Seasoned staff can afford to work there as most are paid ssi benefits and this is there supplemental income. Don’t get sucked in by the miserable and stay happy. Read the other reviews as they are true. I lived it.

Pros

Long standing company with a rich history. Loved the people that I worked with, and can make solid retail money if you have built a prospecting list.

Cons

Prospecting is very hard to do unless you have been there a very long time. It's 100% commission which can get very frustrating at times if you go days on end without a sale. The company really should put it's employees on an hourly wage on top of commission but I feel they would never even consider that. Also have to work long hours on the weekends, but that comes with working in retail. The job isn't for everybody and sometimes it can get discouraging if you are not making big sales.

Pros

The people there are all struggling together, so we've learned to have empathy for each other. Most employees help other pay for gas and their rent when any of the sales reps get a little extra money

Cons

You will work 7 days per week on commissions to make less than a person at a convenience store. Commission are only paid once per month and often time the merchandise is out for 4 to 6 weeks so you don't get paid for 2 or 3 months on sales. When starting they said a sales person can expect 6 ups (customer a day) all of us who are working 6 and 7 days per week average 2 customer per day. You will go broke working here. They withhold your first check for 6 weeks. And in some cases if you sell something at the end of the month, you'll get paid your commissions 3 months later on that sale. Management makes sales staff pay for customers bottles of water when they ask for water. If they give a customer any discount it is deducted out of your commissions. I came to this company with 20 years of sales experience and I now make in one month what I was easily making in 2 weeks at other places. When you leave this company, they will not pay your last check till 6 weeks after or even longer. We have had upset former employees who's complained about this regular I now know of 2 long term sales people who've downsized their homes and 3 employees that have lost their car because they couldn't afford the payments.
