      Great company for the long haul

      Pros

      This has been a great environment to grow and cultivate my career. Having been here a long time, I've had the opportunity to serve in a few different functions, both working directly with clients and working internally on our software and processes, managing people and being an individual contributor. There has always been a willingness to find a role that fits the company's needs in addition to my own. I've been able to dial back the travel (in the years before the pandemic) as my family grows. Working remotely has enabled me to be more flexible with my schedule and allow time to focus on my family's and my own well being in addition to company goals. They say the team member is at the center of everything we do and with a little self-advocacy, I believe this to be very true.

      Cons

      The flexible PTO policy, while great, still feels awkward when coupled with the billed hours requirements in Professional Services, especially as our goal should be to become as efficient as possible in getting to meaningful improved outcomes with our clients. I also feel that our services teams have become more and more disconnected from our product teams, part of which can be attributed to the growth of the company, but the other part I attribute to organizational structure changes over the last two years that split teams apart that once had services and development working side by side.

You've seen a ton of change and growth and mistakes and challenges and you've stuck with us through all of it. For that I'm sincerely grateful. And you've done it in critical roles, including your current role as an Analytics Engineer. I'm glad to hear you've had flexibility to pursue roles that worked within your personal life's situation and needs as well, that's certainly our hope for every team member. I appreciate your feedback regarding time off in the context of our professional services financial sustainability targets centered around utilization. This is tricky, to be sure, and is something we've discussed at length as a leadership team. I think we're going to start evolving our definitions of success in professional services to align more tightly with your perspectives around focusing on measurable improvement and client success as primary metrics, even more so than we have historically. And I think this will be an important part of our growth and success moving forward. We'll also work to continue to reinforce that team member engagement remains at the center of our strategy and our flywheel. Thank you again for your dedication and contribution this past decade!       Great place to work

      Pros

      The leadership is wonderful--they care about every level of employee. I am so appreciative of the great benefits and career growth opportunities that Health Catalyst provides. I'm also grateful to have managers and colleagues that are invested in the company's mission and doing what's best for the client. I like to think that I become a better employee each day by learning from the great people I work with.

      Cons

      Everything I could think to write here is actively being addressed. I'm grateful that our leadership (especially ASO) is continuously working toward improvement.

      Great company with solid values

      Pros

      They put team members as their top priority, which was evidenced by leadership proactively encouraging me to take irreplaceable time off with family during a very challenging season even though a project deadline was approaching. They brought in extra help and everyone pitched in. Also, I love the fact that I have access to people within the organization who are world class in what they do whether it’s clinical, financial, operational, data science, etc. Tapping into those resources allows me to learn in weeks what would otherwise take me months or years.

      Cons

      One challenge I experienced is that we promised too much in an area where our expertise was not strong. This caused stress and missed expectations. I believe we will learn and adjust.
