      Not Perfect but I wouldn't want to work anywhere else

      Great mission, incredible CEO, smart people everywhere you look, treats its people as true assets.

      Cons

      Not sure how many of our 'first job out of college' team members are prepared for life in a public company.

      Thank you for this review and feedback, including your positive comments about the gifts and capabilities of our team members and your sense that we care about every team member. That is absolutely how I feel. I also appreciate the feedback regarding our need to help every team member be prepared for life in a public company context. We'll spend dedicated time, repeatedly, in our all-team member meetings and in other settings, trying to help team members be well-versed and well-prepared for this experience, including an emphasis on all the ways in which life will feel the same -- hopefully inclusive of the mission-orientation of the company, and the focus on team member engagement as leadership's #1 priority. I also appreciate the feedback regarding the need for a focus on "all for one, one for all" which has been so central to the company's success thus far. This has been on my mind significantly in the past several weeks, and we'll discuss it in today's all-team-member meeting. I agree with the need to reemphasize that we succeed or fail together, as a team, which is why we all participate on the same bonus plan. More to come on this, but I appreciate the callout and I agree that we need some additional focus here. Finally, thank you for your many contributions across nearly 4 years at Health Catalyst.       Great Organization Getting Better

      The Health Catalyst Mission, Operating Principles and Cultural Attributes are repeatedly communicated and all team members are encouraged to live by these every day. Outstanding benefits that provide a great work-life balance. Documented outcomes improvements recognized by our clients gives all team members incredible pride and appreciation for what we all do each and every day.

      Cons

      There is a tremendous amount of work to do, and setting appropriate priorities isn't always clear based on manager feedback. The transparency culture at HC can sometimes yield sharing of team member information that should be kept more private. Sometimes team members get direction and assignments from someone other than their direct manager, which can cause issues with capacity planning and reporting structures.

      Best Place I've Ever Worked

      Pros

      There's a lot I could say about working at Catalyst, but the biggest thing to me is that my spouse and children tell me they never want me to leave. It is amazing to feel like I'm a meaningful part of a company doing meaningful things with an excellent business outlook, and to simultaneously have such a great work/life balance that my family notices and cares. The transparency exercised by everyone from executive leadership down to mid-level managers is amazing, and helps us all feel like we have ownership in the process. Catalyst isn't perfect, just like every place there are decisions that aren't perfect, culture that can vary slightly based on managers, but the transparency that exists makes it so we can understand that the overall direction the company is headed, warts and all, is something I want to be a part of for a long time to come.

      Cons

      Catalyst continues to grow and has some corresponding growing pains. Cohesion and consistency across teams can vary. I've had friends who came to work here who didn't have an experience as positive as mine, which I attribute to differences in culture between individual teams. We have had several reorgs over the last couple years. They have inevitably involved some bumps and bruises. Change is painful though, and I can look back and see the reasoning behind the reorgs, along with benefits that have come from them.
