Pros

World class company that demonstrates integrity, trust, and hard-working teammates from the CEO to supportive staff. Open to innovation and changes to improve current processes to help internally as well as our customers. Always kind and living the values/attributes each day.

Cons

As Health Catalyst expands, perhaps there is opportunity to look at the orientation and onboarding program to adapt to the clinical learners. Since I have been here less than one year, I recall the orientation program may benefit from an educator to support the variety of learning styles within the roles of Health Catalyst.

Pros

Leadership team is A+.I have been with the company a little over 2 years and have always felt their focus is on their employees. The company offers excellent benefits, opportunities to grow in both management and individual contributor roles, and has a great mission. I have enjoyed the variety of projects and mix of client work since joining the company with the ASO organization. The culture of the company is also excellent. I have yet to meet another employee that I would consider lazy or a slacker. The companies focus on hiring the right candidates has proven valuable. My manager looks out for my best interest, whether those interest collide with their best interest. Plenty of opportunities outside of your own organization. The company values internal candidates and career exploration. Company appreciates constructive feedback and works to fix valid concerns. As an example, I voiced that the new hire training process didn't feel comprehensive enough to feel that a new hire would be successful working with clients. The ASO had done a great job ramping up on new hire training and I think it is now very effective!

Cons

Some work can be less challenging, but this is the case in any position. Unfortunately, not all employees will/can be selected to work on the most challenging/rewarding projects. Not all employee skills get utilized to the best of their ability, eventually leading to loss of knowledge. This is a tough problem to solve! As a remote employee it is often tough to meet and interact with employees

Thank you for your review and feedback, I'm grateful to hear that your first two years have been positive! I also appreciate your feedback and advice about areas where we can improve -- including your feedback that you've seen improvement in our training in ASO! I agree that we can keep getting better in providing diverse and challenging work for our team members, and in networking with other team members. COVID has made this particularly challenging, but I believe that in 2021 we'll have some significant opportunities for improvement here. Thank you again for all your contributions to the company these past two years! Best, Dan

Pros

Overall great place to work. I have been an employee at Health Catalyst for almost nine years. I have seen many ups and downs and lots of change. Most of the change is a result of growth and having to change to meet the new challenge of that growth. I feel like during that time, I have also grown considerably in my knowledge and skills which I am very thankful for. I think HC leadership sincerely wants to help our clients and their patients. HC leadership listens to employees and wants them to feel welcome regardless of backgrounds. I think this is evident in adopting interest groups such as the LGBT Affinity Group, Women Empowered Group, Veterans and Allies, and most recently a Team Members of Color, Champions, and Allies. HC has flexible PTO that has personally enabled me to be able to attend family events as my kids are highly involved in athletics which I greatly appreciate. I also enjoy being able to work from home which has provided even more flexibility. The benefits and compensation at Health Catalyst are very fair and there is a concerted effort to try to promote although it's not always perfect. Most employees are hardworking and easy to work with and are capable in their different roles.

Cons

Because there has been significant growth, there has been a lot of change. I think people that have been with the company for a long time are comfortable with that change because we are used to it. I think it is harder for new employees that are not used to rapid change. I do think that executive management makes decisions base on where we are currently at without thinking how that change will be implemented at older clients or a plan on how to roll it out to older client. Process has not been a strength at HC. I think this is a cultural attribute of a small startup that needs to change as we are now a larger company. Fortunately, there are initiatives to address this weakness, but it is still a shortcoming. Lastly, although a positive for many, the flexibility offered to employees means some take advantage. I often have not been able to contact critical HC employees that are client facing when there is a fire at a client. I have also had clients criticize the amount of time we are given for holidays which often times makes it hard to deliver on timelines. We have to be better at supporting our clients during the generous holiday days off.

Thank you for your review and for your many contributions these past 9 years! I also appreciate your leadership along the way as well. I appreciate your feedback about how we can improve, including finding ways to stay more connected to the front lines at clients. I've found it helpful to remain on the governance committee for a number of our clients to give me a regular direct checkpoint to hear from clients about what is going well, what could be improved, and what their priorities are. We are looking for ways to enable more of our senior leaders to have similar experiences to enable this connection to the field and to our clients. We'll also work to prioritize direct feedback through skip-level 1:1s and other sources of direct, unfiltered feedback. Thank you again for your direct feedback! Best, Dan
