Pros

The employee benefits are amazing. The ability to work life balance is praised rather than shunned. The executive leadership is always open to feed back.

Cons

I came on board with lesser experience and over the years I have been significantly below my peers with regards to pay (at least according to this website). Fluctuating as much as 20k below this average (with a low sample size so take that for what it is worth).

Thank you for your comments, and your transparency in sharing your feedback. One of the things that keeps me up at night is better training for our managers, as we have grown incredibly quickly, and management/leadership skill is not innate, it is something that must be practiced and learned. We are working hard to provide real support to our leaders such that all become effective at leading those within their groups. As with most things, this is a work in progress, and we appreciate you keeping us on task with the important issue. Regarding your pay, I would suggest you have a discussion with your manager in a thoughtful, reasonable way. There could be several reasons for the above (including the ones you already mentioned), but you should feel confident in your ability to have an open conversation about this topic with your manager, without fear of he or she taking it the wrong way. From the early moments of my first job interview, I got an impression that this was a special place and where I wanted to be. I LOVE IT! Working at Health Catalyst has proven to be a very wise career move. I found a company that not only values my skills, but also fosters a quality atmosphere of trust, respect, work ethic, customer success and professionalism. Health Catalyst has received many awards and is a highly ranked in the best places to work, but most importantly, it is a pleasure and honor to work with my co-workers and for a company that is truly worthy and deserving of these rankings, the praise and accolades.

Cons

The onboarding process was lengthy and daunting. I was eager to jump into my role sooner than I was able.

I have been in healthcare/healthcare IT for 12+ years, and this is by far the best company I have ever worked for. Before joining the company I read a review on Glassdoor about someone "skipping" to work (as in they were so happy to go into the office every morning). I wasn't quite sure what to make of it, since I have never really felt that way with previous employers...but after being at Health Catalyst for a while, I can definitely say that they were right. The management of the team I am on is exceptional, and I have had the pleasure to work with world class developers and engineers. Every person has the best interest of the client in their minds, and everyone works together to ensure the clients are beyond satisfied. Health Catalyst continues to surprise me in many ways. There is so much flexibility offered (work life balance) and the benefits are beyond awesome. One thing that I particularly enjoy and consider it a MAJOR pro is that the company encourages well-being and wellness...As someone who prioritizes fitness, this is so cool that I can track my wellness with the fitness app, and I am encouraged to get out on the trail!

Cons

I take pride that I work for such a great company, and so far I cannot think of a single thing to write as a "con."

I agree with your points, and also agree that one of our big challenges for the future will be to ensure that our culture evolves in a productive way. Because our company is growing so quickly, the way we do things will always evolve, and this will have some effect on culture, etc. However, whatever changes occur, we need to make sure that the changes don't violate our core principles and mission.
