      HealthFirst change in administration- bad for RNs

      Pros

      Caring and hardworking nurses who want to do a good job, stifled by management and workloads.

      Cons

      Constantly tripled as an ICU RN. When told these are unsafe assignments for patients and staff, they tell RNs it isn't their job to determine what is safe, it is the Charge nurse or managements determination. Ask you to chart things that are not actually done because there is no way possible for it to actually happen with the workload. Sad because HF use to be a good place to work, they are turning in HCA. Would not recommend as a place to work. They tell the new grad nurses that a triple assignment is an expectation of the nurses, poor baby nurses are so overwhelmed they want out of nursing within a year. Terrible introduction to nursing.

      Pros

      Nice views, some newer units and equipment.

      Cons

      Cliquey, hostile work environments, nurses scrutinize each other checking each others charting for no reason. Constant complaining about each other.

      Stable job, insurance, benefits, hours, hiring process

      Cons

      Unavailable managers, much of staff not friendly to new nurses. No teamwork. Lack of training.
