As I mentioned, CEO said he liked entrepreneurial-thinking people, like me. However in a meeting where I was asked for input, he seemed displeased that I was giving really strong marketing ideas to a company he was looking to collaborate with. Husband & wife have been in the supplement business for 25 years...still struggling financially. They say they are the next Fortune 500 company...Hah! When monkeys fly. They are late on payroll, as a norm. They do not offer any benefits. If you want coffee, go buy it during your lunch break. Or bring instant from home with a cup and sugar...they are happy to give you the hot water. CEO/CFO dress as if clothes came out of hamper that morning. There is no corporate anything there. They walk-in around 10:30-11:30AM. Personal life tensions spill into work environment, making it toxic and uncomfortable (to say the least). I was asked to coordinate a list of handyman items that they needed done at their residence; that came as a surprise. I was also asked to go shopping online for a gift from them to another employee. Born again Christians that don't see anything wrong with quoting the bible in a corporate setting. See themselves as a highly respected corporate entity BUT there is no corporate culture; they do not even speak like heads of a corporation. CEO refers to women as "girls"; and does not see that the misogynistic language he uses is insulting. CEO is not focused (seems to suffer from Adult ADD). Business is lax and revenue growth is flat as they are trying to collaborate with other companies as a form of increasing their own revenue on someone else's ideas/business model. Their own chosen Sr. VP related to me that there are over 25 sub-companies and barely any are producing any revenue. He wants to cut all the extra businesses and FOCUS... but he is not sure the owners will let him. He is way too good for them. Hope he sees the light soon.
