Great People, Great Company...

Pros

Family like atmosphere, energetic staff, and great open door policy. I have worked here for two and a half years and have worked with employees in almost every department. Everyone is friendly, dedicated and eager to teach peers that are new to the department.

Cons

There are no quarterly/yearly reviews set in place. I feel it is important for employees to be able to express their thoughts or concerns on a consistent basis. This also strengthens the relationship and loyalty between employee and Management.

The caliber of employees at HSAG is outstanding, and their friendliness, dedication, and willingness to assist one another are beyond compare. While there is not a formal review process in place, managers are encouraged to regularly hold performance-based meetings and provide employees with feedback and the opportunity to voice concerns. We appreciate your interest in formalizing this process! Enhancements to executive communication continue to be made, and we are pleased to see that increased outreach from leadership to staff has been very well received.

Challenging and motivating work

Pros

A true atmosphere of teamwork, starting with the top. Working on healthcare reform is a constant challenge, which I embrace. Great people to work with across the states.

Cons

Sometimes Government contracts can be difficult, especially when CMS doesn't really understand what they are asking us to do.

Thank you for your insight. You are right – working in healthcare now is extremely exciting with so much change taking place. While government contracts can certainly be tricky to interpret, HSAG is very fortunate to have such a skilled and educated staff to help drive decision making and contract compliance! Your recommendation for continued mentoring is wonderful. We will continue to look for ways to incorporate additional mentoring opportunities into our growth and development programs.

Pros

covered parking. lot of young employees. clean environment. very useful software and state contracts. excellent healthcare and dental insurance.

Cons

little work life balance. high degree of nepotism. no opportunity for professional growth. unprofessional and disrespectful management. you are trained by being criticized for the mistakes you make - after you've made them - even though you didn't know you were making them. bullying is accepted. management is aware of this and let this happen. My fellow staff and manager joined forces and bullied me and I had to quit notwithstanding the torture. It is quite common to see employees vanish with no leaving notice. Management does not show transparency in decision-making. meetings are usually threatening.
