Pros

Depending on the department you work in, there are opportunities for above average pay as well as decent feedback from management, but this is not company wide.

Cons

This is without a doubt one of the most unprofessional organizations I have worked with. There is little accountability, poor communication and where direct reports are punished for making a wrong decision, senior management is rewarded with bonuses just for showing up and dialing it in.

Pros

Technology was a mix of legacy and new in the IT department, but in the area I worked, we had new technology which was cutting edge. The people you worked with were friendly and helpful...good working atmosphere.

Cons

The company sold deficient, limited liability insurance policies when I was employed there. They were in trouble because they marketed them as being more than they were and I was not proud of that piece of the business.

Pros

free parking! Starbucks within walking distance (edge of parking lot) restaurants withing walking distance (barbecue, sandwich deli, Chipotle, etc.) you get a severance package if you're laid off

Cons

* business attire Mon-Friday. No casual days. * much depends on which manager you're working for, and which department you're working in * poor communication between departments * they were desperate to hire me..didn't even want to wait the 2 weeks I needed to give to my prior employer (but I insisted). Then I get there and they don't even have me set up in Active Directory so I had no PC or email access for several days. By the time I got laid off in spring 2009 (one of the unannounced layoffs) my team was decimated 80% (some of which was admittedly due to attrition). Another (announced) layoff occurred today so the total employee population is now about half of what it was when I started there. The issues with deceptive trade practices and regulatory compliance are well-publicized and no secret. Neither is the fact that huge multi-million dollar fines and penalties have been levied on the company. Frankly, until all that is cleaned up and "good faith" practices/procedures are in place, it's probably best to decline a job offer there -- that is, if they're currently hiring.
