Pros

A large company so that you can see a broad view of the industry. Work that is meaningful. Company is effective and lowering costs for member hospitals. Healthtrust is likely the best healthcare GPO around. Work/life balance is generally respected.

Cons

Very cliquish, very little mentoring. Promotions based on seniority and friendships. Skilled employees are not promoted and are used until they leave. Recurring problems are identified but never properly addressed. Great place if you are a people person, not great if you have other skills. Also, healthcare benefits are below industry average.

Pros

Decent pay and good health benefits if you use HCA facilities.

Cons

The company policies are stuck in the 1950's. There is no work from home policy to speak of. Vacation time is limited and accrued VERY slowly. Bonuses can be good if you are at a director level or above. Annual 401K match vs. monthly and only being vested after five years are a joke.
