Pros

Popcorn, video games, coworkers. They pay you.

Cons

Long hours without overtime pay. I cant tell you how many hours I put in beyond the 8 hour shift. I can't believe they haven't been sued yet. Working with people that work at car dealerships is the absolute worst, especially when it comes to technology. You're going to get yelled at daily for things that are beyond your control and can't do anything about. You have to answer for the senior technicians and explain concepts you don't understand. If you say something wrong you'll then get yelled at by management. They'll find any excuse possible to not give you a raise when reviews come around.

Pros

Company provided on the job beverages occasionally I guess that could be seen as plus other? My prerequisite to being hired question was does cursing offend you? Need I say more..

Cons

Horrible management, completely unrealistic company goals, SUPER DYNAMIC environment things change daily so much that nobody has a firm answer on anything. Speed instead of allowing quality problem solving the first time = loss of clients = no company = I may not have a job feeling everyday.

Pros

- Employer pays for Insurance (co pays were very high even for regular Doc appts) - You will learn a lot (More about this in Cons) -The only possible way Helion could ever fit into someones life plan for a job would be possibly a year straight out of college for experience. But trust me start putting out your resume as soon as you get there.

Cons

I won't go into personal feelings toward upper management only to say the owner is very much like Joffrey Baratheon from Game of Thrones, If you don't know who that is previous reviews should fill you in. - First and foremost the biggest con for working at Helion by far is being a salaried employee which means no matter how much work you do you will be paid the same amount. And they CONSTANTLY push coming in early and staying late. - As I said above you will learn a lot but only because of the ridiculous amount of technical things that even an entry level desktop worker is responsible for. You perform system admin level tasks as tier 1 helpdesk. -You really have to give the company kudos in that regard. It's really a coupe for the company to be able to get system admin level support for tier 1 desktop level pay. (36K) - I'll leave the con section with this, A court case determining if Helpdesk personnel can be classified as exempt. You be the judge Martin v. Indiana Michigan Power Co. (6th Cir. 2004) The Computer Professional exemption therefore does not include employees whose job duties that fall within the ambit of “help desk” services, or employees whose primary duty is to provide troubleshooting support. An IT technician responsible for “installing and upgrading hardware and software on workstations, configuring desktops, checking cables, replacing parts, and troubleshooting Windows problems” would therefore not qualify as a Computer Professional, even though the job necessarily requires some degree of specialized computer knowledge. In making this distinction, courts have distinguished between, on the one hand, employees who merely perform “predetermined specifications in [a] system design created by others,” and, on the other hand, employees whose technical duties involve “the consistent exercise of discretion and judgment in its performance.”
