This was the worst job I have ever had. They gave you short breaks 10 minutes each and that includes the time it takes to put on all of your PPE so it ended up being 5 minutes. The microwaves did not work and your food will still be cold after 5 minutes. There would be a lot of questionable characters there because they hire anyone! Cars were stolen in the parking lot all the time! It was dirty and not ever deep cleaned when I was there. Management was rude and disrespectful to workers. They blamed you if you were waiting for work and had no boxes to do. They wanted you to seem busy at slowdowns do I felt on edge. They also do not pay good - teenage level pay. It’s not safe here either, there were many job related injuries.

Great place to work if you do not care about culture

Pros

Very competitive salary. Can negotiate a sign-on bonus and higher compensation. A lot of promotional opportunities.

Cons

The most political organization I have worked with. Promotes from within without adequate training. Culture in Newark is about as bad as it gets. Hourly associates fighting, highly disgruntled employees, associates openly saying derogatory things towards each other, management, and the company. Highly biased and incompetent local HR department.

Good pay and food, not so good employee treatment

Pay is really good, hours are too...you have four days of 10 hour shifts with three days off. The discount on regular meals is great, as well as the food being really good.

Cons

If you admit to the person who lets you know you've got the job, that you need help lifting more than 30 lbs you won't get an orientation day to actually be hired. If you while working you get hurt and your doctor gives you a restriction letter that you aren't allowed to lift, push/pull, or raise something with your arms above your head that weighs more than 10 lbs you will be put on LOA (leave of absence) and fired three months later, even if there are jobs you can do to continue working. Get everything in writing from them and to them, not verbally so you can protect your income!!!
