Intense, but good learning opportunity

Pros

The company is going through a lot of shifts in trying to establish viability of the business. It creates a fast-paced, high stress culture where you will often be worked intensely. This is a great learning environment to set you up for success in the future, but it can be an emotionally draining and difficult to navigate place - where turnover is common and recognition is sub-par. However, the work is stimulating.

Cons

- common turnover and so shifting responsibilities - low possibility of promotions - regular re-orgs

Chaotic. So much lay-offs. Going downhill.

Pros

That the leadership still has basic human decency left. Kindness and empathy is non-existent. Senior leaders look after themselves and their job stability at the cost of low level employees who gets to execute their ineffective, losing strategies.

Cons

So much chaos, and losses. Low morale amongst employees. Senior leadership is non-functioning, it's just there for show. Was there an impact? Let the layoffs speak for themselves.

Great Culture During COVID Boost, but Not Great After

* Some interesting DS problems * Excellent Tech Stack * Mostly intelligent and amiable colleagues and stakeholders * Discounts on products * HelloFresh portfolio thrived during COVID lockdown and a few years after, and culture was nice. * Nice pace; more than 40 hours per week was rare

Cons

* Demand for products started declining in late 2023 and continued. This created unreasonable pressure on the Data Science and Data Engineering teams, among other teams. * Hybrid Policy enforced in late 2023 with 2.5 days office per week required. * Some employees exempt from Hybrid Policy, majority were not. * Round of layoffs/forcing employees out in Spring 2025 (and a few more). * Not many opportunities for career growth in the DS/DE cohorts.
