Pros

The patients for the most part are nice. I loved the job that I did. You get a sign on bonus.

Cons

The office doesn't keep patients informed of schedule changes which changes weekly. Sometimes the patients are without an Aide due to the schedule changes which isn't right. They'll send you into houses knowing they are bed bug infested but will not tell you so you can take extra precautions. (They know most won't go if they tell you). They don't seem to care about their patients, everyone is a number and it's all about the money to them. The pay isn't good either. They pay $10.25 for HHA which isn't too bad but they only give you a flat rate of $2.50 in between clients where most other company's pay cents per mile. You do alot of driving for only $2.50. Also, They'll pay for your CPR certification but will not give you a copy of it (in case you need it for another job or for babysitting), they will put it in your file to only use for their company. However you can go through that company and get a copy for yourself but it's a hassle. You don't get paid for your 3 days of orientation. Shady company all around

Pros

Most clients are friendly and cooperative.

Cons

Managers dont warn of things such as bed bug infestations, lice, or flu/infections at patients homes. They also dont let staff or clients know of schedule changes. I’ve had very upset clients from this as well as very upset co-workers when two of us show up to the shift. Managers and schedulers are very rude. Training for the HHA is absolutely horrendous. I was never taught how to use a hoyer lift, and they sent me to work with a client who needed the hoyer to get into their wheelchair. When i called management to explain i wasnt trained on this like i was supposed to be so i was told to leave the client in bed until the next HHA came in, 6 hours later. I almost got fired for reporting neglect because the house manager, as well as other co-workers, were at fault. Getting paid $10.25 to care for other people is absolutely mortifying. I work in a sales environment, with no previous sales experience, and am getting paid $12/hour. Company does not respect employees OR clients.

Pros

You can set your own hours, The clients are wonderful! The Nurses are GREAT!

Cons

The pay is great to start, but the HHAs only get 20 cents per YEAR. They don't offer any incentives, the insurance is way to expensive on an HHA salary. The schedulers are nice to you when you will fill in for someone, but get sick and call off and you are treated like crap. The office people sit around and talk about other employees and gossip about people. They will ask you to drive 20 or 25 minutes to a client but offer no mileage on the skilled side. There are LOTS of cons to this job.
