Good training and pay--way too much standing

Pros

Helzberg will train you and then some. They are (or at least were back in 2011) all about providing their employees with the tools they need to succeed. Paid well compared to other jewelry stores in the area. I negotiated hard for my pay ($17/hour) and was the top paid sales associate in that location. They will move you up into management if you prove yourself and put in a little time.

Cons

They are absolute nazis about standing! Everyone's feet hurt. People were seeing doctors about their foot and back pain. Also, whenever you work in a commission driven environment that is predominantly female, be prepared for cat fights and backstabbing.

Pros

Well the discount is great if you in the market or enjoy pieces. Holidays gifts from ceo are great. Sometimes we would be given free jewelry to model for key holidays.

Cons

To start dont trust the interview. I was recruited from a fortune 500 company sales position to be a store manager with the intention to become a district leader at some point. What a joke. They give you the worst base pay I have ever seen plus the highest hourly sales targets. Less then 90 days before I started the required sales target they raised my sales target to 3/8 of the overall sales from last year with 7 other people working there. I reached out for other options and with in the first 3 months I started looking for another job. Training is paid only if you pass your classes on top of still having to make your sales goals. In store training is non existent. Extemely stressful and really no reason to be. No matter what you can not force someone to buy. But not according to our DM who is the high pressure vacuum sales person whos not leaving with foot in your door at dinner sales pitch. But helzberg diamonds is non pressure sales. Yeah right! My location was very cut thoat, childish, back stabbing, and clicky just like high school. After speaking to other managers its not uncommon. Needless to say they lost a loyal employee and customer. Never again not a penny!
