Which bill should I pay?

Pros

The people that you meet here are good hearted southern people with great hearts. They have become great friends and almost like family. I love the hours I work and this position is not micromanaged which is also a plus.

Cons

I am struggling to live off of what I am being paid working here. My current income does not allow me to do much of anything outside of work and I am sometimes forced to choose which bill to pay. This company also does not promote within or do they let you know when a position comes available.

Endangered Species: Your Employees

Pros

Top notch facilities in all their stores. Once had innovative approaches to an ever changing business climate. Due to a long history there are many great employees. Looks good on your resume.

Cons

Has become way too corporate. Instead of each store having an autonomous GM there are now regional managers who are nothing more than puppet masters. Their first directive is showing more profit. The short term solution is to cut payroll by introducing new, very aggressive and unattainable pay plans and eliminating some mid level managers. Those left behind assume duties once held by departed staff at a lower compensation level and longer hours. I was given a "promotion" after a manager left, it took a month to get a new pay plan that was less than what I made in a lower position with the requirement of more hours. There are people who have been in new positions for 90 plus days with no pay plan. The reduced staff are overworked to the point that simple requests such as logins for new employees, business cards, ID badges and the like take weeks instead of days. It can take up to a month to get employees processed after hire. All of the midlevel managers at our store left within a few months. I left of my own accord. Got an upper management job with a smaller auto group with only a GM to answer to and, get this, a decent pay plan with less required hours.
