Absolutely no advancement. Prior to transferring units within the hospital, even if all interviewing went well, the managers from this potential new unit contact your current manager. This discussion is the deciding factor of if you can transfer units. The management, if they really like you or the unit is short staffed, will say whatever it takes to keep you on their own unit. I tried transferring numerous times to my dream unit, the management absolutely loved me. When asked about why my transfer was denied I was told that my manager was short staffed at this time, all 5 times over the course of 2 years although we were overstaffed. I had to officially quit then re-apply to be properly considered. This has occurred to several of my coworkers as well.

If you're stuck in a department where you have a crappy supervisor, it could ruin your entire experience at HF. I don't believe they always give salaries that are fair among employees with the same experiences. I would've never left the home care department if I wasn't stuck with the supervisor i had, who took advantage of her role as leader. She is the reason why many people quit and found other jobs, some left even after 20 years seniority because they couldn't take it anymore. I'm not so patient, I'm transferring after 2 years of witnessing her behaviors. And thank goodness for henry fords fast human resources team they work very closely with me to help me transfer as soon as possible.
