Cons

Management is very dishonest to clients and employees. He needs to be terminated. Also disrespectful to employees and makes inappropriate comments and jokes toward employees and staff in building.

A Solid Builder But the Quality Of Life Is SubPar

Pay and benefits. The Package and Employee-Owned Stock distribution are unmatched. note the HP unit plan does not kick in until the Project engineer level. Also, note bonuses are not available until the project engineer level. HP puts 15 percent of your BASE not with cost of living. into a 401K. note that this as is with most "free" money is subject to vesting on a 5-year schedule. HP provides 3K into your HSA to help with the high deducible family plan. basic life insurance, cell phone allowance $75 a month, cost of living adjustments which in DC is currently $1800 a month.

Cons

Quality of Life. I know it is construction but I normally work 55- 70 hours a week. I also drive past 5 HP job sites each morning and evening. My current total daily commute is 3 hours a day. This leaves me with little time with my family. Like most things in life, HP is very political. True builders tend to take the sideline. Some people get promoted in 3 years and some get promoted in 5-6 years. Note not everyone is the same but this is a real issue in the organization.

Management is out of touch with workers, You are treated like a number. Advancement for growth only if you start on the bottom rung and it takes a long time to advance. Be prepared for long hours. The company promotes a good work-life balance but they don't practice what they preach. If you are thinking of a career with HP, remember if they promise you something, get it in writing!!!!
