      Pros

      There are a lot of great benefits working with Hensel Phelps. They're actually top in the industry when it comes to benefits as a comparison.

      Cons

      Because it is such a large company with tons of unique projects all over, the professionalism and communication standard can sometimes vary from job to job. Also beware of the Field Engineer role. You must be dedicated to the position as well as your employer. This role requires a ton of your time and attention, which could be a bit overwhelming for someone just coming in to the industry.

      Pros

      Hands on, you learn a lot. Not your typical construction manager company, HP is a builder.

      Cons

      Promotions suck, based years with company instead of performance. If you are good friends with upper management you will get promoted a lot quicker. Salary is not very competitive

      Pros

      HP has some of the brightest people I've met in the industry. They have good (not great pay.). There is always some sort of function to go to.

      Cons

      Lately, they have migrated towards mega projects in which younger employees get far less experience. It is leading to a much less competent younger workforce within the company. Everyone at each role gets paid the same. There is no real motivation to excel since you'll get the same benefit as the rejects.
