Pros

Once you get into the salary positions, the pay is great.

Cons

The company is very political. Positions are filled with friends of the hiring manager. Recruiters act like you are bothering them when you ask them a question about a position even though you are a current employee. It takes a long time for a recruiter to get back to you regarding answers to questions and regarding decisions about positions applied for.

Pros

Absolutely no pros working for Hertz Las Vegas Airport location. Your life will be miserable.

Cons

First of all, let me start from the beginning. When they hired me, they lied to me about everything. They told me that I will be making between $45,000 and $60,000 per year, which is the least anybody makes and a lot of counter sales associate make more than $100,000 per year. Complete lie as they pay you only $9.50/hr. and the commission we make depends on the goal(how much upgrades we do and screw people for the most amount of money). They never tell you about the goal at hiring time and on top of that if you don't make the goal(which most of the employees don't make because it's shamefully very high), they keep everything you make for them the whole month. I worked very hard and made the company more than $50,000 every month on the upgrades and selling insurances but they kept it all without paying me a single penny, except for the meagre hourly wage. On top of that, at the end of the month when you are about to make your goal they take a lot of cheap reservations, people who never upgrade and bring your sales numbers down, so they don't have to pay you. They do that intentionally every month end. Secondly, they asked about my availability at the time of the interview and I clearly told them no graveyard because of my sleep apnea and they promised me day shifts. But after I started working, I found out that they have shift bids every 3 months and it's based on seniority(again, they never told me that at the time of hiring). So, I my schedule was graveyard(against my approval/wish). Another LIE Thirdly, the way they run business is also unethical and unprofessional. They want us to lie to people and use scare tactics to sell them hertz insurance and sell hertz fuel and upgrade the vehicle. They don't have a price list for the upgrade. They want us to fool customers and tell them any number to start from and if the customer say no, ask for their sam's club/Costco/Albertsons/smiths/aarp/aaa basically any card and lie to them that since you have this card we give you another big discount which depending on how desperate/in hurry the customer is. We have to go these mandatory special classes where they teach us how to lie and deceive people. They teach us to tell customer that we don't have the vehicle they reserve so they have to upgrade and pay extra. They want to keep as much money as they can after lying and deceiving people and on top of that they want to keep everything and pay the associates only hourly(not much). The employees work hard all month and in the end they get to keep all without any shame or guilt. All the employees are unhappy and they all have been lied to at the time of hiring. They take complete advantage of employees. That's why they have such a high turnover. This was my worst job ever I would never work for such an unethical and selfish company like Hertz and would never recommend it to anyone either. Very disappointing. Absolutely disgusting and bunch of monkeys running the business.
