Everything else. The pay is terribly low, even for the more experiences employees. Management will expect you to spread yourself incredibly thin because of understaffing. In this position you will be expected to do a little bit of everything from admin work, to driving (most of the job), to sitting in groups as a glorified babysitter. There is no room for growth unless you go back to school to become a clinician. Once that happens, it is highly likely for clinicians to find elsewhere to work. The space is cramped, no one gets a real office space, specially MHAs. You can find 3-6 of them crammed into a glorified utility closet at the "MHA office." Nothing has changed in the last couple of years to my knowledge, and sadly I don't expect any change soon. Management has begun micromanaging as well.

Hire you under false pretenses as an assistant to the adolescent program yet all you ever do is drive!! Drives are throughout the day, some 2 hrs long, 26 Miles from the office, and clinicians do not communicate well with MHA staff regarding schedule changes. You can come into work as early as 6 am and leave as late as 8:45 pm due to your schedule being based on drives! (NOT a 9-5 or 8-4 type of job!!) terribly understaffed, management that is deceitful and rarely ever in the office. Concerns from staff are often ignored in that nothing gets done or the boss shuts the door and avoids you so they do not have to face the reality of the mess that exists. High focus takes advantage of MHA’s and treats them as if they are unimportant, uneducated “drivers”. The reality is, the place would not be able to run without MHA’s because they do all of the leavy lifting in terms of getting many patients into high focus and back home everyday. If you like constant stress, feeling mentally unwell yourself, being avoided and ignored, driving over 300 Miles at your job each week, coming in at different times everyday and leaving well past 7pm most days, hardly ever getting a break to eat or do the job you were hired for and monitor adolescent patients.... then this is the place for you.
