Pros

The benefits are competitive, it all ends there.

Cons

Oh where can I start? High school type clicks rule the school and they play nasty in the sand box. The old High Liner management takes full advantage of the power they have and run everyone into the ground. Lying is so common you are surprised when the truth is told and they lie to you on the big issues with straight faces. Management will not support you and will take action against you for not getting their support and the mistakes made by the higher ups because they know no one will stick up for you or dare to. It is widely known that your job will eliminated if you try to defend your self. Back stabbing is so common you spend a large portion of your work week preparing for it and when it comes having undisputable proof does you no good. As to reviews and goals, that is when you see how unethical they really can be. They will lie, and blindly add information to force failure and all the information will a surprise. While working at High Liner you best be looking for a real job.

Pros

1. Small group - very intimate team set up 2. Laid back - not a lot of IT issues are mission critical except for JDE and Lotus domino

Cons

1. Very poor management as far as the IT department 2. Absolutely no opportunity for advancement 3. Good work is never appreciated, My manager commented at my performance review that it is almost close to impossible to get "exceeded expectation" in performance reviews 4. IT budget is there but absolutely no training and support, Had to fight for a reimbursement for a IT certification that I did 5. Management is biased towards the people that can have a buddy buddy relationship. Either you are FRIENDS with your manager or you are never going anywhere
