Pros

Pretty consistent with promoting your pay every year (1$ more when you do contingent employment) Training was thorough.

Cons

Training you do have to pay for yourself, it is an online portion (super long, 7hr simulation) and in person training that takes all day (7am to 7 pm if i recall) that is part in water and part classroom. Not very long breaks but that does depend on location (size, number of guards hired. I was a part of a 2 person pool, had been one person at the first month/first year and was stuck with one 10 minute break every hour. (brutal in the heat) With two people it was switched, one on stand one inside, and switch. (think one on stand for 45, 15 min break together and the other goes on stand for next 45 etc.) management was a bit difficult with scheduling sometimes and communication.

Not Great

Pros

- HR is very nice and helpful - competitive pay - If you get to work with other lifeguards, you get to meet people from all over

Cons

- training for rescues is good, but training for everything else is nonexistent. When you start at a new pool, there is no one to show you where things are or tell you what needs to be done - they only schedule one lifeguard at a time at smaller pools, but that means that if the lifeguard is on surveillance, they can't do any of the other duties like check patrons in - you get reprimanded for things that you were never trained on - management/supervisors change the rules sometimes - other training sessions are early in the morning and unpaid

Pros

Had competitive pay and good locations

Cons

Management wasn’t well organized, scheduling conflicts would occur, and generally no room for advancement.
